about

I wrote this on my birthday a couple of years ago while trying to collect my thoughts and wrap my head around how we as a society of human beings got to this point. I feel helpless sometimes when I see people with so much to give that give nothing and so many struggling with nothing. We're so desensitized now to the suffering around us that we barely notice other people's pain. Just Another Day...

lyrics

Just Another Day

Verse 1:
Another birthday just another day
Another sunrise another scrambled egg
Another morning to wrestle with my brain
Trying to find words to go with these 88’s

Chorus:
Should I write about love
Should I write about hate
Should I be pointing my finger at somebody
Is there somewhere in the middle I can argue my case
Is anybody listening

Verse 2:
Another party another glass of wine
Another child getting left behind
Another gun fight another senseless crime
A trickle down effect that’s drowning all these people in record time
...so I ask you again

Chorus
Should I write about love
Should I write about hate
Should I be pointing my finger at somebody
Is there somewhere in the middle I can argue my case
Is anybody listening

Bridge
Do I have to stand up on the tallest mountain
To get these people to see
That we’re the furthest thing from helping ourselves
Is anybody listening

Last chorus:
Can we talk about love
Can we talk about the hate
Stop pointing your finger at somebody
Is there somewhere in the middle I can argue my case
Is anybody listening
(Is anybody, is anybody, is anybody listening)
