This song is very personal to me and has been my therapy for a very difficult time in my life. Learning to move on from a miscarriage two years ago proved to be one of the most emotionally challenging things in my life. Sometimes our choices lead us down dark paths and we have to learn our life lessons the hard way.

Somewhere in the middle where people go to meet, there standing in the darkness you found me. I took your hand. Something told me it was time to go and happily and blindly, I followed. I had to learn the hard way.

Peace is not given. It's something that you fight to find and I've found no armor strong enough to protect me from my mind. All of these roads that I've taken make me break my heart again. I gotta let myself be free and let my life begin. I had to learn the hard way.

A life worth living, taken before it could begin. Now I have to find my salvation somewhere else within. I had to learn the hard way. Through all the tears and the pain I had to learn the hard way.
